Born in 1950 in Adelaide, South Australia, of Latvian parents who came here as Displaced Persons after WW2. Spent 1972-3 in Switzerland studying at the Applied Arts School in Zurich, afterwards travelling in France, Austria, Germany, Italy, Latvia, New York, London. More recently the Philippines.

2006 – B of Management (Marketing), University of South Australia
1973 – Certificate of Stage Design, International Summer Academy of Fine Art, Salzburg, Austria.
1972 – Diploma of Art & Design (Graphic Design), Swinburne, Melbourne, VIC
A graphic designer for more than 30 years. Illustrated 5 Latvian language books published in Sweden. Worked in advertising agencies and for printers.
Fine art etchings (series of “The Sleeping Beauty”) together with handset type in German is in the collection of the Applied Art School of Zurich, original book illustrations at Michael Treloar Antiquarian Booksellers in Adelaide and in private collections.
In 2006 I made a couple of contemporary art wall quilts of sea themes using applique and beading, evolving to lino-cuts and screen-printing of Latvian power symbols onto home décor and clothing.
