My name is Terry Jackson, and I am a late-blooming, self-taught
graphite/coloured pencil and pastel artist specialising in wildlife (and
not-so-wild life). My work is best described as photo-realistic, and I
have been artistically scribbling since 2005.
I have been lucky to have had my artwork chosen 3 times for entry into
the Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize and have exhibited in shows
throughout South Australia, including several SALA exhibitions. I am
honoured to have my works hanging throughout Australia and
internationally. I was a guest artist on ‘Put Some Colour In Your Life’
and have held art classes in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or more advanced, I would like to
share my graphite techniques not only to learn to draw well, but to
bring your drawings to life on Tuesday afternoons from 12.30 – 3.30 pm
in the Port Community Art Centre workshop space.
Please supply your own materials (preferably at least HB, 2B, and 4B
pencils, erasers, your chosen paper (I prefer smooth, but it’s your
choice), and photos of your chosen animal subject.
