As the Port Community Arts Centre is a community-based organisation, we have decided to support a charity each year, to raise funds for and raise public awareness of their cause through the medium of an art exhibition.
The charity we are supporting this year is MESHA (Military and Emergency Services Health Australia). The MESHA Veterans Art Programmes, are proudly supported by the Centre for Creative Health (CCH) and part of the charity which is The Hospital Research Foundation Group. CCH aims to improve the quality and experience of healthcare through art, music and design. The programmes delivered, focus on living a healthy lifestyle, through to prevention, treatment, recovery and end-of-life care. The MESHA Veterans Art and Art Therapy Programmes, are designed specifically for past and presently serving Australian Defence and Emergency Services personnel with Post-Traumatic Stress symptoms and their families.
The exhibition titled Remember When, to be held in The Black Diamond Gallery, 66 Commercial Road Port Adelaide, will be open to everyone to enter, and Veterans encouraged to exhibit. The official Opening will be at 2pm on the 2nd April 2022, and the exhibition will continue until Sunday 17th April 2022.
